Market environment
Currently approx. 140 fruits are grown in Japan depending on the geographic conditions. Major products are mandarin orange, apple, grape, Japanese pear, peach, persimmon, cherry, pine apple, etc. In 2020, apple was the biggest volume in production and mandarin orange was the second, which was almost the same volume as apple. Since 2012, mandarin orange has the biggest proportion of fruit production except year 2015 and 2020.
